YOU WILL KNOW ME, by Megan Abbott: What an excellent novel. Gave me the creeps in the best possible way.

DARKTOWN, by Thomas Mullen: A brilliant blending of crime, mystery, and American history (Atlanta, just after WWII). Terrific entertainment.

Meg Gardiner. INTO THE BLACK NOWHERE. Excellent. You know the drill, bookstore near you. Buy now, thank me later.
Want to read something good? You won't find it on the front bestseller table at your bookstore, but it's new, and will be there. THE CHALK MAN, by C.J. Tudor. If you like my stuff, you'll like this.
Loving Laura Lippman's new novel, SUNBURN. Suspenseful as hell, and she writes like a dream. It's got a cool James M. Cain vibe. Lippman's always good, but this is a cut above.

THE HUNGER, by Alma Katsu: Deeply, deeply disturbing, hard to put down, not recommended reading after dark.

I want the tee-shirt mentioned in Author Elizabeth George's excellent THE PUNISHMENT SHE DESERVES. The front of the shirt reads I'M NOT LAUGHING AT YOU, I'M JUST OFF MY MEDS.
THE MARS ROOM, by Rachel Kushner. Most literary fiction doesn't last very long. This is going to be around. It's the real deal. Jarring, horrible, compassionate, funny.
HOW IT HAPPENED, by Michael Koryta: Excellent mystery-suspense novel. Page turner. Perfect summer reading.

Getting tired of suspense novels with GIRL in the title? I was, too. Then I found THOSE GIRLS, by Chevy Stevens. Incredibly scary and suspenseful.
